- Type of extension. Acrylic, gel, BIAB and press-on sets use different products and take different amounts of time.
- Length and shape. Longer sets and shapes like stiletto or coffin need more product and shaping than short almond or square nails.
- Nail art. Chrome, cat-eye, French, ombré, 3D and hand-painted designs are added on top of the base set.
- Occasion sets. Bridal and festive nails usually need more detailed art.
